The Ashoka Model United Nations 2025
Est. 2018
Letter from the Secretary General:
I sense somewhat of a paradox in today’s geopolitics. In an era of heightened tensions, conflicts and violence, many seem to have lost trust in the very institutions designed to promote peace, harmony and well being. While scholars continue to debate the reasons behind the lack of faith in international institutions, conferences such as AUMUN aim to demonstrate what international institutions should look like, thus befitting the name, Model United Nations.
It is a pleasure and an honour to invite you to Ashoka University’s first Model United Nations Conference. In a country where interest in geopolitics is rising, conferences such as AUMUN aim to bring together exceptional students to discuss not just relevant, but important issues that the world and global governance face.
AUMUN aims to complement Ashoka University’s stellar International Relations Programme, and aims to raise a broader discussion and awareness on global issues, all while refining the skills of everyone involved. It is forums such as AUMUN that allow students to nurture and hone public speaking, debate, argumentation and leadership, among several other skills.
Skills that I hope participants will bring to and sharpen at the conference.
All while debating the various carefully curated agendas and critical committees, AUMUN is also an opportunity to meet new people, interact with diverse worldviews and enjoy a good time at the beautiful Ashoka University campus.
AUMUN is an opportunity to make friends, eat good food and get mentored by some of the finest Executive Board Members in the MUN circuit. I hope that you will have a fun and fruitful time at AUMUN.
Debate Excellently.
